After the successful release of NightWatchman Server Edition in late October, Andy Hawkins (Product Manager), Richard Cudd (Lead Developer), Steve Newby (Solutions Engineer) and Andy Dominey (OpsMgr Practice Lead) take time out to chat to Dan Kregor about the capabilities of NightWatchman Server, and the cost savings that can be achieved in the data center.
An old colleague of mine has developed a new tool for OpsMgr. It allows administrators to place all objects for a single server in maintenance mode using a nice GUI.
Though it’s still in development, Microsoft have released a tool that allows you to run SideShow gadgets on any bluetooth enabled device that is running Windows Mobile 5 or 6. SideShow has always seemed a little gimmicky to me but I’m sure there are people who will find this useful.
Just a quick post to let you know that R2 for OpsMgr has been released to the public on Connect. Go to connect.microsoft.com to download.
This release is not supported in production and will have no upgrade path. RC1 (once released) however will be supported and have an upgrade to RTM.
Just a quick post to mention that Savision released LiveMaps v3 into private beta yesterday (Oct 23). I haven’t as yet checked the supporting doco to see if I can blog more details. If I can, I will in a later post.
I’m currently in the process of writing a blog post about a new plugin for MS Outlook that could potebtially become an indespensible tool for email junkies and corporate execs alike.
